The product rule is a formula used to find the derivative of the product of two functions. If u and v are functions of x, then the derivative of their product is given by:
\[ \frac{d}{dx}(uv) = u'v + uv' \]
This means that to differentiate the product of two functions, you take the derivative of the first function (u'), multiply it by the second function (v), and then add it to the first function (u) multiplied by the derivative of the second function (v').
